Missing Child Dies At Hospital After Being Found In Maryland Waters

Marcel Traore, 6, has died at an area hospital after going missing in Baltimore County and later located during a search of Lynch Cove on Friday afternoon.

Shortly after 9 a.m. on June 21, first responders were called to the 2000 block of Inverton Road in Dundalk, where there was a reported missing child near a boat ramp, prompting an extensive search and recovery effort in the area.

It took hours to locate Traore, who was ultimately found in the water shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning and rushed to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he later died.. 

Officials noted the boy was non-verbal.

"This tragic event has undoubtedly shaken the Dundalk community," a spokesperson from the Baltimore County Fire Department stated.

"The loss of a young life is always deeply felt, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Marcel's family and friends during this difficult time," they continued. This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of water safety."
